Ref: Parking Review for Kildare Town
Dear Sir,
On behalf of Kildare Chamber of Commerce I enclose the executive’s considered proposals with regard to the review of pay parking in Kildare Town.
Submissions in relation to review of Pay Parking in Kildare Town
- Cobbled area opposite CYMS to be brought into line and suitable landscaped for aesthetic and traffic safety reasons.
- One hour parking opposite Heffernan Builder Providers with double yellow lines on opposite side.
- Double yellow lines from Crosskeys Junction continuing to traffic lights on Monasterevin Road.
- Remove the two car parking spaces outside Goban Saor – creates bottle neck!
- Academy Street – double yellow lines outside dwellings.
- Traffic Management at St Bridgids Square as per enclosed map.
- Parking on Bride St on old Chilling Co side not incorporated on “Draft”.
- We welcome the additional bus bay on Main Street and the Taxi Rank in Town centre.
- Long stay parking on Friday Road opposite Harp public house.
- Double yellow lines on Malones Lane.
- Immediate parking plan to stop sleepers in residential area ie Tower View, Dara Park, Beechgrove and Lourdesville. As highlighted in original submission dated April 2006.
- Welcome changes to main car park behind Top Nolans
- Change to long-stay on Dublin Road, adjacent to convent wall due to lack of use.
- Double yellow lines on station road.
- The chamber would request figures in relation to operational cost and financial gain since the implementation of pay parking in Kildare Town.
